Council Cop is committed to accuracy, context, and transparency.
When we learn that published content contains a material factual error, we will review the supporting evidence and correct the record promptly. The correction will explain what was wrong, provide the accurate information, and identify the date of the change.
Minor spelling, formatting, captioning, or production errors may be corrected without a formal notice when they do not alter the substance of the reporting.
New information that expands or changes the context of a story may be added as an update rather than treated as an error. Material updates will be labeled and dated.
Council Cop will not remove accurate reporting merely because it is critical, embarrassing, unpopular, or disputed. Removal may be considered when content is materially false, unlawfully published, misleading in a way that cannot be adequately corrected, or likely to cause unjustified harm that substantially outweighs its public value.
Requesting a Correction
Correction requests should identify the specific content, the statement believed to be incorrect, the proposed correction, supporting evidence, and contact information for follow-up. Requests may be sent to admin@councilcop.com. Submitting a request does not guarantee that a correction or removal will be made.
